Was even hard for me to find it. lol. --- Onto other links. Here is Jessica's Blog which I mention during the show. She downloaded the podcast with Allison's music and commented about it. Jessica's from France by the way, forgot to mention that during the show. http://wherethelionsweep.com/?p=163&lang_view=en Hotwire, hey it worked for me to find a cheap room in Toronto on a few days notice. http://www.hotwire.com My Twitter page, explain twitter a bit during the show. http://twitter.com/robertcarnell Ian Foster's Website http://www.ianfoster.ca Ian's MySpace page http://www.myspace.com/ifbmusic Internet Archive. Wed, 23 July 2008 Found the file thankfully so here it is. Exactly as it aired on Monday, July 21st 2008. No introduction or wrap up from me, just what aired on the radio. It's almost an hour so I think that's long enough for people listening. Once I edited the interviews down I realized I needed things to fill an hour, so I got clips from some podcasts. Here are the links for the people I spoke to during the hour. Tue, 22 July 2008 Thought I saved the 1 hour file that was broadcast on CFRC but I have the file without my voiceover. Oops. So will be a bit of a delay putting up the podcast while I get the complete show. It's the coverage of Podcasters Across Borders as I did some interviews there last month here in Kingston. I put in clips from some of guests' podcasts and some voiceover from me to set it up. Category: general -- posted at: 10:59 PM Comments[0] |
Sun, 20 July 2008 Been writing a blog on MySpace since the show started with updates for the radio show and such. Don't have to join MySpace to read it but I thought I'd start putting it up in another location. Little easier to read it on Wordpress so here it is. http://saltwatermusic.wordpress.com/ Don't want to fill this page up with too many text posts, trying to keep this just related to the podcast. On the blog it shows a new way to listen to the radio show after it airs. Here's a link to the Internet Archive page. http://www.archive.org/details/SaltWaterMusicJuly19th Category: general -- posted at: 6:36 PM Comments[0] |
Wed, 16 July 2008 This episode the music of Allison Crowe for an episode that almost lasts an hour. Found her first through publicbroadcasting.ca since she puts up podcast safe music. So I grabbed the songs from that site. She offers her songs for free on her website so you can listen to them there. Of course she does have a spot to purchase her music. On her website you can also watch videos of Allison, read the sheet music and lyrics too. She's originally from Nanimo, B.C. but shares her time between B.C. and Corner Brook, Newfoundland. So I'm sure she's an honorary Atlantic Canadian now. Some upcoming concerts for Allison are NYC, Toronto and Newfoundland. Saturday, July 19 at 8:00 p.m. Laurie Beechman Theater, 407 W. 42nd Street New York City, NY, USA Saturday, July 26 at 8:00 p.m. Heliconian Hall, 35 Hazelton Avenue Toronto, Ontario, Canada Friday, August 15 ~ 8:00 p.m. Woody Point Heritage Theatre, Grosse Morne National Park, Newfoundland, Canada Fifth Annual Writers at Woody Point - hosted by Shelagh Rogers of Sounds Like Canada Finally here are the names of the songs in the podcast. There are 12 songs so they're a lot of them. Skeletons & Spirits, Effortless, Imagine, Whether I'm Wrong, Montreal, Hallejuah, Me & Bobby McGee, Silence, I've Never Loved a Man the Way that I Love You, How Long, Joan of Arc ,Time After Time. Mon, 14 July 2008 Doing a new episode this week, on what I'm not quite sure. Might be a music one or just have me talking about things again. Downloads have shot up lately so maybe people enjoyed the episode where I just talked about various things. :) Krissy Holmes' episode is the most popular one by the way. So a virtual medal should go to her. Salt Water Music episode with no music is the most downloaded one? Ironic. Category: general -- posted at: 4:47 PM Comments[0] |

Thu, 26 June 2008 This episode is entirely "off topic". I talk about attending 'Podcasters Across Borders' for a few hours on Saturday. I give a quick thanks to everyone I talked to that afternoon. http://www.podcastersacrossborders.com/ Then onto seeing a car crash that afternoon in downtown Kingston as I left the conference. An eventful day. Finally a story about a caller who was trying to sell an item on a local TV show 'Buy, Sell and Trade'. The item was not what she said it was when she phoned in. I did graphics for that show and had to change it from FUTON to DOLPHIN. What's a dolphin? You'll have to listen. It's a PG rated story. [which is a hint] Comments[0] |
Wed, 18 June 2008 Interview I did last Tuesday with Graeme Walker from "Grand Theft Bus". Their new CD is "Made Upwards" and they're doing a tour of Western Canada. Touched on a few topics including Fredericton, a town I know well. They're a rock band from New Brunswick in case you haven't caught their music on the show before. Visit the official website for the tour dates and to purchase the new album. It also lets you listen to songs from their discography. MySpace page also lets you listen to some tracks from the new CD. http://www.grandtheftbus.com/ http://www.myspace.com/grandtheftbus The tour starts June 19th in Calgary so if you're out west check them out. Sun, 8 June 2008 Three songs by Andrea Wittgens who I played on the radio recently. Andrea is originally from Antigonish, NS and living in Seattle. She's finishing up her first solo album and she keeps a very good online presence. Also Andrea is a Queen's Alumni so an added bonus. Should ask Andrea what her time in Kingston was like. :) Three songs I play are 'Alibi Was Just an Afterthought', 'Aquarium' and 'Did You Go Too Far'. Following links are where you can find out more. You can also listen to some songs and purchase the CD. http://www.myspace.com/andreawittgens http://andreawittgens.com/ http://www.songslide.com/ArtistDetail.aspx?ArtistID=201 Search in the iTunes Music Store for "Andrea Wittgens" http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/wittgens Comments[0] |
